Former Miss Sri Lanka Jacqueline Fernandez was picked by the NBC TV channel to grace its show 'Last Call with Carson Daily' during the Miss Universe 2006 campaign. Jacqueline was accompanied by most beautiful ladies from Argentina, Canada, Ecuador, Japan, Mexico, Namibia, Sweden, Ukraine & USA. During the Miss Universe 2006 beauty contest Jacqueline became famous as her face resembled the face of Eva Mendez. During the contest she stayed in the hotel room with the then Miss India Neha Kapur.

It's interesting to note that Jacqueline Fernandez dominated the ballot (though at 2nd position after Miss Dominican Republic Mia Tavera) at until the 4th tally of the People's Choice for the Miss Universe 2006 beauty crown. Jacqueline got around 15% votes and was the consistent favourite by her admirers.
